The idea behind Random Acts of Kindness, or RAK, is to show a little love to fellow bloggers. People put forward their wishlists and sign up and send books to each other. It puts a smile on people’s faces, and that’s always a good thing, especially in the current economy. Hosted by Book Soulmates.

• Sign up each month that you’d like to participate.
• Show off your participation by grabbing our RAK button 🙂
• Create a wish list (on Amazon, Goodreads, or your blog etc) and post it in the Google Doc located in each R.A.K post for the month.
• If you choose to do a R.A.K for someone, check out their wish list and contact that blogger for their address.
•*NEW* Please, once you receive a RAK, email or tweet @BookBrunette so that she can update the Google doc. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU EMAIL HER. SHE WILL BE THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR UPDATING THE GOOGLE DOC.{Thanks @BookBrunette for accepting!!}
• *NEW* E-book participation is limited to files being gifted directly to a person from the e-book store. Amazon’s Kindle Store is set up to allow this, as well as the Kobo store and we believe Barnes & Noble as well.
• At the end of the month, SHOW US YOUR R.A.K! Make a post saying ‘Thank You’ to whoever granted one of your wishes and share it with us 🙂

Let’s keep our International bloggers in mind and in our hearts.
Remember, there’s always the Book Depository and they offer FREE shipping!

Okay so hopefully I can send out another one or two RAKs this month but I’m not making any promises. I have a giveaway or two planned and we still aren’t sure what’s happening with the move so as always, money is tight. But I do plan to return the favour to the people who’ve sent me RAKs if I can and I also have a couple of other people in mind. It might be a few months, I might manage to squeeze it in, but it’s planned, I haven’t forgotten you guys.

This month, while I do as always have a stash of books I really want to read, I’ve decided to focus more on series. I have a fair few firsts in series on my bookshelf that I haven’t started yet because I’m scared about getting hooked and not being able to afford the follow-ups, or I’ve read the first and same deal, so they are my first priority. Here is my main wishlist, in some kind of order, I’ll try to keep it updated throughout the month:

  1. Catching Fire and Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins – I have The Hunger Games and I really want to read it but I’ve heard too much about horrid cliffhangers so I’d really really like to get these two before I start.
  2. Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr – I’m after these in a particular cover. I discovered the really cool newer covers in the UK with the tinted page edges and ever since I’ve wanted them so bad. I haven’t read the books, either, so these have been very high on my wishlist since I discovered them.
  3. Changeless, Blameless, and Heartless by Gail Carriger – I read Soulless and loved it and would love to be able to read the rest of the series.
  4. The Iron Daughter and The Iron Queen – I have The Iron King but haven’t tucked into it yet.
  5. Outlander series – Another one I hear fantastic things about but I just can’t afford the books.
  6. Night World Bind-up v2 – I have v1 incoming from a giveaway won (yay) and I found v3 in the charity shop.
  7. The Vampire Diaries – Books 3 and onwards, preferably not the series covers, I have a pet peeve about those. I have the 1 & 2 bind-up.
  8. Storm of Swords, Feast for Crows, and Dance With Dragons – I’d be happy for any of these.. I noticed they’ve been reissued and the prices have gone up. Very uncool.
  9. The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson – I’m after the UK cover, and the full 1,000 pages version.. There’s a reason it’s been on my wishlist for a long time.
  10. Anything by Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman – but for these, please check with me first! I have a few lingering around the bookshelf but I’d like to be able to read them all and have been collecting Pratchett books. The main wants are on my wishlists, though, of course.
I’m going to stop now, I could go on all day I suppose, but if you’d like to send me anything, first of all, thank you! And second, you can contact me for my address from my contact page. There’s a contact form and my email address. My wishlist is always kept very up to date, if you’d rather have a look there.
