I’ve read some great stuff lately and thought it’d be cool to just do a general link love post to share some of these things with you.
First of all, as The Great Gatsby movie came out in Britain yesterday, I thought it’d be a great time to share this wonderful graphic from electric.com comparing the characters of Great Gatsby with the actors playing them. I think it looks great! Can’t wait to read the book, which I’ve just got from the library, and see the film, it’s about time I read it and the film looks awesome.
Ooh then I found out they’re televising Bitten by Kelley Armstrong in Canada. Squee! There is a first look photos from the set and a Youtube video from the lady playing Elena. I reckon they’ll do a good job with it!
Leeswammes’ Dystopia For Adults list is pretty amazing. I love dystopia but I often find the teenage angsty romances that come with YA dystopian fiction frustrating, so a list of adult dystopian fiction is very welcome! On top of this, Uncorked Thoughts is running a challenge to read through the list.
Speaking of challenges, Vicky is running a challenge to read Richard and Judy’s 2013 Summer Book Club picks. This is a great way to discover new literature!
There has been a fair bit of talk about gender stereotyping in cover art this week and I loved Hannah’s post about it. This is definitely a problem that needs to be looked at.
What have you been reading? Anything thought provoking, fun or squeeworthy to share? I’d love to take a look!
